When is the best time to visit New Orleans?
It depends on what you want to do while you are there!
Tourism is heavy from Jan-May because of how many events there are and the temps tend to be cooler. Summer (July/August) get notoriously hot and humid so if you are planning long outdoor activities or have young kids that might be something to consider. With that said almost everywhere (including Sally!) has AC.
Carnival festivities in New Orleans take place from January 6th through mid-March with celebrations typically ramping up the long weekend before Fat Tuesday, which is usually the last week of February.
The Jazz Festival is April-May. If you are not interested in festivals, Halloween and the holidays are also very popular.
